Some music I've been listening to....

Noah and the Whale : First days of Spring
Starts off a little slow but an epic and beautiful song. Yes, I did use the word Epic. The whole album is really good and worth downloading. Amazon actually has really, really cheap downloads available. I think I paid like 6 bucks for it or something. Worth getting.

Freelance Whales : Hannah
This band is super fun and this song kind of makes me happy. Once again the album is worth getting. I would recommend it. Lots of fun arrangements and unpredictable melody's.

* Note I've done another listen of this album and I feel I must retract the unpredictable melody's comment. It's actually very predictable but not in a bad way at all.  It's just kind of simple and fun and tends to be a little obvious but still enjoyable because they don't over do it. It has a VERY strong resemblance to Postal Service as far as the music goes. I still recommend it.

Geopgrapher : Wonderful
Yes, this band again. They might be one of my new favorites. I can not get their album out of my head, out of my cd player, simply awesome. It's one of those cd's that ends and you just let keep playing, not really noticing that it started playing over again. I haven't listened to their newest album yet, but I'm sure it's just as good. Download it!

....And sidenote, the new Radiohead, Pj Harvey, and Gorillaz are all pretty good too if you haven't heard.

Happy Anniversary

To celebrate our one year, we decided to head to Leo Carrillo State Beach and go camping for the night. We took the longer, but scenic route through the canyons of the Santa Monica mountains. The clouds were playful in a massive sky. The sun was giving and so was the weather. It was a perfect, beautiful start to our adventure.

And then, we arrived.

And picked out our campsite...

And then it was time to go explore and enjoy the sunset somewhere.

We found a couple of neat caves to wander through...

Then proceeded to get really cheesy and cute for a minute...

And shortly thereafter, the end of a beautiful day came with the astounding beauty of the night to ensue...

It was an amazing, full moon night filled with lots of time hanging out beside our campfire, making delicious smores, playing guitar and violin together, and reading to each other before going to bed. I couldn't have asked for a better evening with the man I love. The moon was incredibly bright and radiant, no headlamps needed, and the weather was great given the projected forecast of rain which never came.

We awoke in the morning and explored the beach all over again taking in it's infinite and powerful beauty. This is by far the cleanest and most stunning beach I've been to in the surrounding LA area.

An hour after we unpacked the car and had breakfast back at our house it was raining on the eastside. Standing outside on the balcony watching the rain fall, it seems as though it was almost all a dream. Or maybe just a gift. <3
