Featuring...

So I've ditched out on going to Sasquatch - decided to go to Bonaroo instead. Happily for me, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros are playing at both. Bonaroo's lineup holds a very different vibe (GWAR ?) and I'm excited but moreso interested in the overall experience. I have a feeling it's going to draw a cool, mellow group of people w/ good energy (translation = hippies). Looking forward to it (!).

Travels start in PA, then a 14 hour road trip down to Manchester, TN. Camp out for 4 days and then fly back to LA. And (!) the flight to PA marks my first day of not working a 9 -5 job -- Gave official notice yesterday, but of course they could always find someone before than, either way works for me (just putting it out there universe).

2006 ~ Pacific Palisades
Worlds ago buried in an enchanted back yard of a beach house transplant. Fairy tales were still real then, Mogan's tuna melts, repetitiously driving on Sunset Blvd, California Vegan, dog beach days in Malibu, very late late nights that somehow turned into the sunrise of the next day, Kibitz, worlds apart, worlds away.

I'll be damned.... the whole worlds bout to go to hell.

I keep imagining what the breakfast table conversations were like this morning in an overly conservative home upon opening their front door to receive today's paper...

Well, shit on me Betsy.

A painting of me done by The Feisty Sushi, he also did this.

For your viewing pleasure....

Cris burned me a copy of Nico Vega's cd and for some reason I wasn't impressed and only listened to it once. QB posted this video on her blog and automatically I was enamored with the chemistry and the energy present in the room. Her voice is amazing and I enjoyed this video so now it's your turn. Cheers!

I want more.

During the first 44 seconds I was thinking in my head, what can I say that will make someone sit through this and actually watch it... then he starts playing and after the first minute I think, well - if they get this far - they'll stay - he's awesome.

Quick glance at the time count and realize this video is just over 6 mins, hell they'll never sit through this - I might not sit through this -- just over 2 mins and he has the violin - I'm hooked, maybe I will watch the whole thing....3:30 enamored...3:50 at the edge of my seat...4:22 in love, huge smile. This guy is awesome - don't think this is the best example of is voice but this video is great. Thank you Sirius XMU.

HOLE- Y Shit.

It was 1999, I was a freshman at redlands east valley high, and Chelsea and I were repetitiously calling KROQ like our lives depended on it trying to win tickets to the Hole and Manson concert at the Forum. Our two favorite bands - after Korn (geez-us!) - were going on tour, TOGETHER. It was a dream come true but to our dismay we did not win tickets and buying them was out of the question. Incidentally, the LA show turned out to be the last show of the tour.

Although I did end up fulfilling my adolescent fantasy of seeing Marilyn Manson (and Twiggy Ramirez - HUGE crush), due to Courtney Love's train wreck nature and uninteresting solo project, seeing Love onstage never materialized.

Hopefully, until now that is...
....tickets go on sale Saturday for Hole at the El Rey (!!).
**Retraction- the show is actually at The Fonda and ticket scalpers suck, no luck on tickets - BOO**

Although not the original band lineup, I'm still pretty fucking interested and excited. The idea of waking up early to secure a spot on my laptop, coffee in hand & logged onto Ticketmaster at 9:58 to buy tickets at 10 am is hilarious to me, but YOU KNOW that's what will be happening. I haven't been this excited since I bought tickets last month to see Broken Social Scene.

- Here's to 1999.

Lewis Carrol

"One can't believe impossible things," Alice said.

"I daresay you haven't had much practice," said the Queen.

When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day.

Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible

things before breakfast.
